The overall objective of our research is the development of methods and strategies with which the efficiency of plant breeding programs can be increased. We try to achieve this by following two research lines. The first is the development and optimized use of prediction methods. The second is the increase of selection gain by increasing the genetic diversity.
In both research lines, we are creating novel plant material, exploiting the possibilities of *omics technologies, and developing innovative biostatistical and quantitative genetic procedures.
